However I want to make sure I'm connecting to the correct wires as the Smartcaraft install guide shows a blue and white wire coming off the speedometer harness and mine is coming off the tach harness? And the blue and white wires coming off tach are crimped and heat shrinked (image 709)-not sure why.resistor? Additionally, I have a blue and white pair (unused) coming off one of the harnesses in the junction box (image 710).ġ) The wires coming from the tach that are crimped together are labeled 'NMEA 0183' (img 709) do I just cut the crimped end off and use these for the gps speedo?Ģ) Can I use the blue and white coming out of the junction box to connect the GPS antenna (img 710)?ģ) Why does the Smartcraft installation manual (link below) show available blue and white wires coming out of the speedo harness and mine does not have them?Īll of this basically to make the already pricey Smartcraft speedo display speed. I'm adding a Faria NMEA 0183 GPS antenna to the speedo gauge so it will show speed. From a compatible Garmin or Raymarine display, you can monitor rpm, speed, fuel flow, temperature, trim and more. I have the Mercury Smartcraft RPM/Speedo gauge set as seen in the link below. There’s no need to crowd the dash with additional displays or gauges.
